As the name suggests, this transparent blue zoisite comes from Tanzania. This is a calcium and
aluminum silicate. A recent discovery (1967), this stone has been awarded gem status. It comes in violet-blue, light violet, green, yellow, light brown,
pink or almost colourless. Warning; the sapphire blue variety is the product of a heating process; it is acid-proof, but a little brittle and its edges can wear down.
